Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: At least 11 people, including five women, were injured after a passenger coaster overturned in Karachi’s Sher Shah area due to overspeeding, rescue officials said on Saturday.
According to rescue sources, the accident occurred near Dalda Company when the speeding coaster went out of the driver’s control, crashed into a footpath, and overturned on the roadside.
Rescue authorities confirmed that the injured included five women and six men. All victims were shifted to a nearby hospital where they received emergency medical treatment.
Sources said the passengers were returning to Lyari after attending a wedding ceremony in Baldia Town when the accident took place.
Police officials stated that the overturned coaster was later removed from the road with the help of a crane, after which traffic flow in the area was restored.
Initial investigations suggest that overspeeding was the primary cause of the accident. The incident has once again raised concerns over reckless driving and road safety in Karachi.
