Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The government of Pakistan has announced a major reduction in kerosene oil prices, cutting the rate by Rs41.80 per litre amid ongoing changes in petroleum product pricing.
According to an official notification, the new price of kerosene oil has been fixed at Rs318.96 per litre after the latest revision. The updated rates came into effect immediately.
The announcement follows the government’s recent increase in petrol and diesel prices, which sparked public concern over rising fuel costs and inflation pressures across the country.
Earlier, the Petroleum Division increased petrol prices by Rs14.92 per litre, setting the new rate at Rs414.78 per litre. Diesel prices were also raised by Rs15 per litre, taking the new price to Rs414.58 per litre.
Energy analysts say the latest adjustment in kerosene prices could provide partial relief to low-income households, particularly in remote and colder regions where kerosene oil remains widely used for cooking and heating purposes.
The government has linked recent fuel price revisions to fluctuations in global oil markets, exchange rate movements, and petroleum levy adjustments.
