Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: A senior adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mohsen Rezaei, has said the United States must compensate Iran for all damages incurred during war, while reaffirming Tehran’s firm position on the Strait of Hormuz and rejecting nuclear negotiations.
According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, Rezaei, a former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, issued strong remarks addressing nuclear talks and regional maritime security.
He stated that Iran will not enter negotiations with the United States over its nuclear programme and insisted that the Strait of Hormuz must remain under Iranian control.
Rezaei warned that if Iran loses control over the strategic waterway, adversaries could use it as a tool against Iran and its population. He stressed that regional security should be managed by regional states rather than foreign military forces, calling for the withdrawal of US and European presence from the region.
He further demanded that, in the event of successful negotiations, the United States must pay full compensation for wartime damages inflicted on Iran, adding that Washington “cannot leave without accountability.”
Rezaei also accused the United States of attempting to manipulate the situation around the Strait of Hormuz, claiming that Iran would not allow such strategies to succeed.
The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical energy transit routes, and Iran’s repeated assertions over its control continue to draw international attention amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
