Pakistan Economy on Right Track, Says Finance Minister

Date:

Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said the country’s economy is moving in the “right direction” despite challenging global and domestic conditions.

Speaking at a ceremony on Wednesday, the finance minister emphasized that stabilizing the current account remains a key focus of the government’s economic policy.

He said that attracting private sector participation is a top priority for ensuring long-term economic growth, while fiscal discipline and diplomatic engagement remain central pillars of the government’s strategy.

Aurangzeb added that the government, with support from international financial institutions, is working to further strengthen the financial system and improve economic resilience.

He noted that Pakistan continues to expand its energy mix through solar, wind, and hydropower projects as part of efforts to reduce reliance on conventional energy sources.

Commenting on regional developments, the minister expressed hope that tensions between the United States and Iran would ease soon, highlighting the importance of global stability for economic growth.

He further said that despite difficult conditions, Pakistan’s economy is on a positive trajectory, with capital markets expected to play a more significant role in future development.
