Beijing, China – Web Desk: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has arrived in Beijing for a high-level diplomatic visit, where he is set to hold key talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
The meeting comes at a time of heightened regional tensions and increasing geopolitical competition over the Middle East.
China is one of the largest buyers of Iranian crude oil and has continued energy imports from Tehran despite ongoing US sanctions targeting Iran’s economy.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has previously described military actions against Iran by the United States and Israel as “illegal,” reflecting growing diplomatic alignment between Beijing and Tehran.
The visit also takes place as Washington continues efforts to restrict Iran’s oil revenues and tighten economic pressure on the country.
Analysts say the talks are significant amid current regional instability, with both China and Iran playing influential roles in global energy markets and Middle Eastern geopolitics.
