Web Desk – Arabian Sea: The Pakistan Navy has launched a humanitarian rescue operation in the Arabian Sea, providing emergency assistance to foreign crew members aboard a distressed vessel.
According to security sources, the vessel “MV Gautam,” en route from Oman to India, developed a technical fault, prompting India’s Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) Mumbai to seek assistance from Pakistani authorities.
Responding swiftly, the Pakistan Navy deployed a ship from the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, identified as “PMSA Kashmir,” to conduct the rescue operation.
Officials confirmed that the stranded crew — comprising six Indian nationals and one Indonesian — are being provided with food, medical care, and technical support onboard.
The Pakistan Navy stated that it remains committed to ensuring maritime safety and is prepared to respond to emergencies at sea on humanitarian grounds, regardless of nationality.
The operation highlights ongoing cooperation in maritime rescue efforts despite regional tensions, underscoring the importance of international coordination in ensuring safety in busy global shipping routes.
