Pakistani Oil Tanker Reaches Karachi With 80M Litres Diesel

Date:

Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk:A Pakistani oil tanker carrying 80 million litres of diesel has successfully arrived at Karachi Port after completing a key maritime journey from Kuwait, officials confirmed on Monday.

According to sources at the Karachi Port, the vessel—identified as Khairpur—reached the port after passing through the strategically sensitive Strait of Hormuz three days earlier.

Officials said the ship departed from Kuwait carrying a large diesel consignment intended to strengthen Pakistan’s fuel reserves and ensure stability in domestic petroleum supply.

Maritime sources further noted that the vessel was granted special clearance to transit through the Strait of Hormuz amid heightened regional tensions and increased security concerns in Gulf shipping lanes.

After crossing the Strait of Hormuz, the tanker entered the Gulf of Oman before continuing its journey toward Pakistan, completing a critical supply route for the country’s energy sector.

Energy officials say such shipments are vital for maintaining fuel availability in Pakistan, particularly as global oil markets remain volatile due to geopolitical instability in the Middle East.
