Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited has joined the investor consortium formed to acquire Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), marking a significant development in the government’s ongoing privatisation drive.
According to a statement issued by Arif Habib Corporation Limited, the consortium’s holding entity, PIA Equity Limited, has formally inducted Fauji Fertilizer as a shareholder.
Following the inclusion, PIA Equity Limited will assume 100% ownership of the national carrier under a unified investment structure designed to streamline acquisition and future management.
The updated shareholding structure now includes Arif Habib Corporation Limited, Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited, Lake City Holdings, AKD Group, The City School Group, and Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited.
PIA Equity Limited will act as the central platform for the acquisition and restructuring of PIA, bringing together major institutional investors under a single framework.
The consortium is also maintaining close coordination with the Privatization Commission of Pakistan to complete the transaction. The move is widely viewed as a critical step toward reviving the financially struggling national airline and improving its operational efficiency.
