Precautionary measures
The Met Office advised the general public, especially children, women, and senior citizens, to take precautionary measures. Citizens should avoid direct exposure to sunlight during peak daytime hours and stay hydrated.
Farmers have also been advised to manage crop activities — including wheat harvesting — while keeping weather conditions in view, and to take care of their livestock.
The heatwave alert comes as summer temperatures begin to peak in southern Pakistan. Previous heatwaves in the region have led to hospitalizations and increased demand for electricity and water.
Residents are urged to follow updates from the PMD and local authorities.
