Cambridge, United Kingdom – Web Desk: Cambridge International has confirmed that an A-Level Mathematics exam paper was leaked before the scheduled test across multiple regions, including Pakistan, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and South Asia.
In an official statement, the board said that Paper 12 (9709) was shared in violation of exam regulations prior to the examination. The paper reportedly surfaced on social media approximately six hours before the exam took place on Wednesday.
Cambridge said it has launched a full investigation to determine the nature and extent of the breach. The institution added that decisions regarding next steps are under review, with further updates expected on May 7, 2026.
The board emphasized that its top priority is to ensure that students are not disadvantaged and that the integrity and fairness of the examination system are maintained.
Students have been advised to continue preparing for upcoming exams and to attend them as scheduled.
Cambridge also noted that such breaches are rare but warned that strict action is taken against examination centers and candidates where evidence of malpractice is found. Senior experts will decide on any corrective measures to ensure the credibility of results for universities and institutions worldwide.
