Iran-US Truce Restores 50% of Gulf Flights From Lahore

Date:

Lahore, Pakistan – Web Desk: Air operations to Gulf countries have improved by 40 to 50 percent following a temporary ceasefire between Iran and the United States, airport officials said Wednesday.

According to sources at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, 23 flights departed for the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia on Tuesday. The resumption marks a significant recovery in regional air connectivity after weeks of heightened military tensions.

Destinations included Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Bahrain, Kuwait City, Doha, and multiple Saudi cities. Airport authorities confirmed that both outbound and inbound flight frequencies have increased across all major Gulf routes.

Overnight winds and heavy rain caused delays for 17 domestic and international flights, but all were subsequently cleared for departure, officials added.

If tensions between Iran and the United States do not escalate further, further improvement in flight operations is expected in the coming days, airport sources said.

The temporary ceasefire, brokered through regional intermediaries, has eased concerns over airspace safety in the Persian Gulf region, allowing civilian aviation to resume near-normal schedules.

Airlines operating between Pakistan and the Gulf have begun adding capacity in response to rising passenger demand, which had slumped during the peak of the conflict.

No official statement has been issued yet by Iranian or US authorities regarding the duration or terms of the temporary truce. However, aviation authorities in Pakistan continue to monitor the situation closely.
