KARACHI – Web Desk: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave warning for large parts of Sindh, with temperatures expected to remain hot, very hot, and dry across most districts of the province.
According to the Met Department, a heat wave is likely to affect central and upper Sindh from today until May 3. Temperatures in Jamshoro, Dadu, and Shaheed Benazirabad may rise 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal. Ghotki and Sanghar are also expected to experience similar temperature anomalies.
Other districts including Khairpur, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Sukkur will also remain in the grip of the heat wave.
In Karachi, maximum temperatures are expected to reach 34-36°C today, rising to 36°C on Wednesday and 37°C on Thursday over the next three days.
The Met Department has advised the public, especially children, women, and the elderly, to take precautions. Citizens should avoid direct sunlight during daytime hours and increase water intake. Farmers are advised to manage wheat crop operations according to weather conditions, and measures should be taken to protect livestock from the heat.
