CHANGSHA, China – Web Desk: Pakistan and China have signed three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance cooperation in seawater desalination, agricultural technology, and the tea sector, according to an official statement from the President’s House.
The signing ceremony took place in Changsha, Hunan province, with President Asif Ali Zardari in attendance.
The first MoU, signed between the Sindh Local Government Department and Ocean Environmental Technology Group, aims to convert seawater into potable water to increase water supply to Karachi city. Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and the representative of the Chinese group signed the agreement.
The second MoU, between the Sindh Local Government Department and Longping High-Tech Information Company, focuses on cooperation in agricultural technology.
The third MoU, related to the tea sector, was signed among Muscat & FMC Trading Company, Hunan Tea Group, and Jialong International Technology (Hainan). Senator Saleem Mandviwala signed on behalf of Pakistan.
Separately, President Zardari conferred the Sitara-i-Pakistan award on distinguished Chinese cardiologist Professor Pan Yangbing for his advanced ultrasound-based heart treatment techniques.
