WASHINGTON, United States – Web Desk: US President Donald Trump said materials recovered from a seized Iranian-flagged cargo ship cannot be publicly disclosed because they are “top secret.”
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said US forces recovered significant materials from the vessel but declined to provide further details.
“There were things on that ship, but they are top secret and cannot be discussed,” Trump said, adding that the operation had yielded substantial intelligence.
When asked whether he was upset over alleged attempts by China to break a US naval blockade, Trump said Washington was not angered by such actions, noting that the United States also engages in similar activities with other nations.
Earlier this week, Trump said US forces intercepted and seized an Iranian-flagged cargo vessel in the Gulf of Oman after it allegedly attempted to cross a US naval blockade.
The incident has added to growing tensions between Iran and the United States amid ongoing regional instability.
