ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Web Desk: Pakistan has decided to make an urgent spot purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and has invited global suppliers to submit bids for three cargoes, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Sources at Pakistan LNG Limited said bids have been invited until April 24, and the offers will be opened on the same day.
The move comes as Pakistan seeks to secure timely fuel supplies amid growing energy demand and regional uncertainty.
According to sources, bids have been requested for three LNG cargoes scheduled for delivery in late April and early May.
The first cargo is expected to be delivered between April 27 and April 30, while the second shipment is scheduled for May 1 to May 7.
The third cargo is expected to arrive between May 8 and May 14.
The emergency procurement highlights Pakistan’s efforts to maintain energy stability and ensure uninterrupted gas supplies during a period of heightened global energy market volatility.
