Trump Has No Deadline for Iran Ceasefire, Says White House

Date:

WASHINGTON, United States – Web Desk: The White House has clarified that President Donald Trump has not set any deadline for a ceasefire or agreement with Iran, dismissing reports suggesting a fixed timeframe of three to five days.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt rejected the claims, saying the president has not imposed any official deadline for a deal and will determine the timing as Commander-in-Chief.

She said Trump is giving Iran a few days to present a unified proposal, during which a temporary ceasefire may remain in place. The US is currently awaiting Tehran’s response, she added.

Leavitt also said the administration expects a coordinated response from Iran regarding Washington’s proposals and emphasized that any extension of the ceasefire would depend on mutual agreement.

The spokesperson said Trump is satisfied with the current pressure in the Strait of Hormuz, adding that economic leverage on Iran is encouraging Tehran to return to negotiations.

She further stated that Iran must surrender enriched uranium as part of any potential agreement and claimed that Tehran’s private communications with the US differ from its public statements.

The remarks come amid ongoing diplomatic uncertainty as both sides continue to exchange pressure and signals over potential negotiations and regional stability.
