Iran Says Sanctions, Threats Blocking Real Nuclear Talks

Date:

TEHRAN, Iran – Web Desk: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran remains open to dialogue and agreements but warned that sanctions, blockades, and threats continue to undermine meaningful negotiations.

In an official statement, President Pezeshkian said Iran has consistently supported diplomacy and continues to welcome dialogue.

He said the biggest obstacles to genuine negotiations are broken promises, economic blockades, and ongoing threats.

Without directly naming US President Donald Trump, Pezeshkian criticized what he described as contradictions between Washington’s statements and actions.

“The world is witnessing your continued hypocritical rhetoric and the contradictions between your claims and actions,” he said.

Meanwhile, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said a full ceasefire would only be acceptable if maritime blockades are lifted.

He warned that any violation of the ceasefire through naval restrictions or actions that harm global trade could make reopening the Strait of Hormuz impossible.

The remarks come as global markets closely monitor tensions in the Middle East, particularly concerns over energy supply routes and shipping disruptions.
