Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, to discuss the evolving regional situation and ongoing peace efforts.
According to a statement shared on social media platform X, both sides exchanged views on recent developments in the region, particularly in light of the extension of the ceasefire between Iran and the United States.
Separately, a high-level consultative meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is underway, attended by senior federal ministers and top officials. Sources said the meeting is reviewing the implications of the extended ceasefire and assessing Pakistan’s diplomatic role in facilitating dialogue between Tehran and Washington.
Officials added that Pakistan’s leadership is expected to remain in contact with Iranian counterparts to support continued engagement and help ensure progress toward a second round of negotiations.
Pakistan has also welcomed the announcement by the U.S. president regarding the extension of the ceasefire, viewing it as a positive step toward de-escalation and long-term regional stability.
