Qatar Backs US-Iran Talks, Supports Pakistan Amid Crisis

Date:

Doha, Qatar – Web Desk: Qatar has expressed strong confidence in ongoing diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran, emphasizing that the international community broadly supports negotiations to ease rising tensions.

Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari said that Doha, along with other global actors, is actively backing dialogue and peaceful resolution efforts. He also reaffirmed Qatar’s support for Pakistan’s diplomatic role, describing the country as a key regional stakeholder.

Al-Ansari noted that the ongoing closure of the Strait of Hormuz has escalated the situation from a regional dispute into a broader international crisis, underscoring the urgency of coordinated global action.

He added that Qatar remains in close contact with all relevant parties, including Islamabad and Washington, to facilitate constructive engagement and prevent further escalation.

Highlighting longstanding ties, the spokesperson said Pakistan and Gulf nations share deep historical relations, while regional countries are maintaining direct and continuous communication with key stakeholders.

Al-Ansari stressed that resolving the crisis is a collective responsibility and cannot be achieved by any single country alone. He reiterated Qatar’s commitment to mediation, noting that the country has a proven track record of facilitating dialogue and will continue working with partners to find a peaceful solution.
