Moscow, Russia – Web Desk: Russian security authorities say they have foiled an alleged bomb attack plot and arrested a German national in connection with the case, according to state-linked media reports.
The Federal Security Service (FSB) stated that a German woman was detained in the Caucasus region after suspicious materials were recovered during a security operation.
Officials said an improvised explosive device was found in the suspect’s bag. She is accused of planning to target a security facility in southern Russia.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the arrested woman. Investigators are currently questioning her and examining possible links to any broader network.
Russian media reports indicate that the suspect was detained before she could carry out the alleged plan, preventing what authorities described as a potential security threat.
The case comes amid heightened security concerns in several regions of Russia, where law enforcement agencies have increased counter-terrorism measures in recent months.
Further investigation is underway to determine the motive and possible affiliations of the suspect.
