Iran Keeps Talks Open While Warning of Possible War

Date:

Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran has said it will continue negotiations with the United States while remaining fully prepared for any potential escalation in regional tensions, according to remarks from senior leadership.

Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated in a televised address that Tehran is pursuing diplomatic engagement but does not fully trust its adversaries, warning that the situation could deteriorate at any time.

Ghalibaf, who is also associated with Iran’s negotiating framework, emphasized that while talks remain ongoing, national security preparedness is equally critical given the current geopolitical climate.

He said Iran continues to engage in dialogue but remains ready to respond to any threats, reflecting what officials describe as a dual-track approach of diplomacy and defense readiness.

According to Iran’s semi-official Mehr News Agency, the statement underscores Tehran’s position that negotiations are important under current circumstances, but cannot come at the expense of military preparedness.

Analysts say Iran’s stance reflects a broader regional pattern of balancing diplomatic engagement with strategic deterrence, as tensions remain high amid ongoing disputes involving the United States and other regional actors.

The comments come at a time of heightened uncertainty in the Middle East, with global powers closely monitoring developments amid concerns over possible escalation or renewed conflict.
