Iran School Attack: Parents Thank Pope Leo in Letter

Date:

Minab, Iran – Web Desk: Parents of children killed in a reported US strike on a school in Minab, Iran, have written a letter to Pope Leo, thanking him for amplifying their voices and calling for peace.

In the letter, the grieving families expressed gratitude for the Pope’s message urging restraint and an end to violence, saying his appeal to “lay down arms” would resonate globally. They said his support had given them hope amid profound loss.

The parents also stated that the White House has yet to issue an apology over the incident, which they say claimed the lives of schoolchildren in the city of Minab.

According to reported details, more than 160 people, including young girls, were killed in the attack on February 28, which has drawn international concern and renewed debate over civilian protection and the laws of armed conflict.

Separately, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed condolences, stating that the nation mourns the loss of its daughters, particularly those killed in the Minab school incident. He said the tragedy occurred during the early phase of an imposed conflict and vowed that the victims’ sacrifice would not be forgotten.

The incident has intensified global scrutiny over military actions in conflict zones, with growing calls for accountability, adherence to international law, and protection of civilians.
