Tehran, Iran – Web Desk: Iran has refused to allow unrestricted access to the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz until its national rights are fully recognized, escalating tensions in the already volatile Middle East region.
According to media reports, Mohsen Rezaei, an adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, stated that Tehran would not “leave” the Strait open unless its demands are met.
Rezaei said the United States remains wary of prolonged conflict, while Iran is fully prepared for an extended confrontation, citing its experience in past conflicts. He added that although he follows the leadership’s decisions, his personal view is that Iran should not agree to extend any temporary ceasefire with Washington.
The remarks come amid heightened geopolitical tensions and concerns over global energy security, as the Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical oil transit chokepoints. Any disruption in the waterway could significantly impact global oil supply and international trade flows.
Analysts warn that Iran’s stance may further complicate diplomatic efforts and increase uncertainty in global markets, particularly in energy and shipping sectors.
