US-Iran Talks Likely in Islamabad Next Weekend

Date:

Web Desk – Islamabad, Pakistan: A second round of negotiations between Iran and the United States is likely to take place in Islamabad at the end of next week, according to sources familiar with the development.

Officials said administrative and security agencies in Pakistan have been instructed to begin preparations for the संभावित مذاکرات, indicating growing momentum toward renewed diplomatic engagement.

Sources added that the U.S. delegation is expected to include J.D. Vance, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner.

On the Iranian side, the delegation is likely to be led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Abbas Araghchi.

However, Iran’s Foreign Ministry has said no final date has yet been confirmed for the مذاکرات.

The potential meeting follows an initial round of talks held in Islamabad on April 11, where delegations from both sides engaged in nearly 21 hours of discussions but failed to reach a formal agreement.

Despite the lack of a breakthrough, J.D. Vance previously said there had been “positive progress,” adding that Washington had presented its proposals and was awaiting Tehran’s response.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has stated that Iran is open to a “fair agreement,” while Sergey Lavrov has urged restraint, warning that the crisis has no military solution and calling for renewed diplomacy.

Analysts say the possible second round of talks in Islamabad underscores Pakistan’s growing role as a mediator in high-stakes geopolitical negotiations, particularly amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
