Iran May Host Pakistani Delegation for Ceasefire Talks Today

Date:

Web Desk – Tehran, Iran has indicated it may host a Pakistani delegation as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts linked to indirect negotiations with the United States, with a focus on achieving a comprehensive ceasefire.

Speaking at a news briefing, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said messages between Tehran and Washington are being exchanged through Pakistan, which is acting as a mediator in the process.

He said the exchange of messages has been ongoing since last Sunday, adding that Iran has received communications via Pakistani intermediaries and maintains a clear position on key issues.

“There is a strong possibility that Iran will host a Pakistani delegation today as part of the continuation of negotiations,” Baghaei said.

According to the spokesperson, previous discussions held in Pakistan covered key areas including a full ceasefire, the lifting of sanctions, and compensation for damages caused during the conflict.

Baghaei noted that Iran had also raised the issue of unfreezing its financial assets during the talks, though no breakthrough had been achieved so far.

He added that reports regarding an extension of the ceasefire remain unconfirmed.

The spokesperson reiterated Tehran’s stance, accusing the United States and Israel of hostility toward Iran, while emphasizing that any future negotiations would be aimed at securing a complete cessation of hostilities.

Analysts say Pakistan’s role as a diplomatic intermediary highlights its growing importance in regional conflict resolution efforts, particularly amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.
