Washington, United States – Web Desk:U.S. Vice President JD Vance has praised Pakistan’s role in facilitating negotiations between the United States and Iran, describing it as “important and constructive” in advancing diplomatic engagement.
In a statement, Vance credited Pakistan’s leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir, for demonstrating “exceptional leadership and statecraft” in hosting and enabling dialogue between the two sides.
He noted that both leaders played a key role in bringing Washington and Tehran to the negotiating table, despite years of limited direct engagement between the two countries.
According to Vance, Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and hosting of talks helped create an environment conducive to dialogue, raising hopes for de-escalation in a region marked by heightened tensions.
Analysts say Pakistan’s role in facilitating the talks is being viewed internationally as a significant diplomatic achievement, potentially enhancing Islamabad’s standing in global diplomacy and opening new avenues for regional peace initiatives.
