Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: French President Emmanuel Macron has called for the inclusion of Lebanon in ongoing ceasefire discussions linked to the Iran-related peace efforts being coordinated in Islamabad.
According to his statement, Macron held discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and also spoke by phone with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman regarding the evolving situation in the Middle East.
The French President said that all sides agreed to maintain close coordination in efforts aimed at reducing regional tensions, ensuring freedom of navigation, and reaching a durable peace agreement.
Macron emphasized full support for the ceasefire framework, stressing that it must be strictly implemented and extended to Lebanon. He also underlined the importance of restoring safe and unrestricted maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier, Macron and President Erdoğan discussed the broader Middle East situation, including the need to respect the ceasefire and work toward a long-term diplomatic solution.
