Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – Web Desk: Saudi Arabia’s energy sector has suffered a major setback following recent attacks, significantly disrupting oil and gas production as well as supply chains.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, key energy installations were targeted, leading to a sharp decline in production and transportation capacity.
A major oil pumping station was hit, affecting the flow of nearly 700,000 barrels per day, while attacks on the Manifa Oil Field and Khurais Oil Field reduced output by an additional 300,000 barrels per day.
Overall, Saudi Arabia’s total oil production capacity has dropped by approximately 600,000 barrels per day, raising concerns in global energy markets.
The report further revealed that major industrial and refining hubs, including facilities in Jubail, Ras Tanura Refinery, Yanbu, and Riyadh, were also impacted. Additionally, a fire at processing plants in Ju’aymah disrupted LPG exports, further straining supply.
The attacks resulted in the death of one security personnel and left seven Saudi citizens injured, highlighting the human cost alongside the economic impact.
Experts warn that continued disruptions could tighten global oil supply, potentially triggering a rise in energy prices and intensifying pressure on the global economy.
Given Saudi Arabia’s central role in global energy production, any sustained decline in output is likely to have far-reaching consequences for international markets and economic stability.
