Israel Halts Strikes on Iran Amid US Pilot Rescue Operations

Date:

Tel Aviv, Israel – Web Desk: Israel has announced the temporary suspension of planned airstrikes on Iran following recent escalations in the region. The decision comes as Iranian forces reportedly downed two U.S. warplanes within Iranian airspace, an act confirmed by American sources.

According to CNN, an Israeli official confirmed that the strike postponement was decided on Friday to avoid interfering with ongoing U.S. search-and-rescue operations for personnel from a downed F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet in Iran. One U.S. airman has been rescued, while the second remains missing.

The Israeli official stated that the leadership’s decision aimed to ensure that U.S. forces could safely recover their personnel without additional operational complications.

Tensions between Iran and Israel have sharply increased in recent days, with both nations engaging in a series of attacks and retaliatory measures. Meanwhile, Iranian authorities have offered a $70,000 reward for any civilian assisting in the capture or return of the missing U.S. pilot.

The ongoing situation underscores the heightened volatility in the Middle East, with U.S., Israeli, and Iranian actions closely monitored by regional and international stakeholders.
