Trump Claims He Can Reopen Strait of Hormuz Easily

Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk: U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States could reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz “easily” and without external assistance, amid ongoing tensions with Iran that have disrupted global energy supplies.

In remarks posted on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said that with “a little more time,” the U.S. could restore access to the key shipping route, allowing oil flows to resume and generating significant economic gains.

The statement comes as the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran enters its 35th day, with the Strait of Hormuz remaining effectively closed. The disruption has led to global fuel shortages and a sharp rise in oil prices, impacting international markets and economic stability.

Trump had previously sought support from NATO allies to address the situation but indicated that Washington could act independently if necessary. He added that reopening the strait would restore economic momentum worldwide and ease pressure on global energy supply chains.

Analysts say the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime chokepoint for global oil shipments, remains central to the ongoing geopolitical crisis, with any developments likely to have far-reaching economic and security implications.
