Dubai, UAE – Web Desk: Authorities in Dubai have officially launched a driverless taxi service, marking a major step forward in smart mobility and autonomous transport innovation.
The service is now operational on select roads, with initial deployment covering key areas including Umm Suqeim and Jumeirah. Officials confirmed that the initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Chinese technology companies specializing in autonomous vehicle systems.
According to media reports, around 100 self-driving taxis have already been integrated into Dubai’s transport network. Authorities plan to gradually expand the fleet as part of the emirate’s broader vision to lead in smart city infrastructure and AI-driven transportation.
The introduction of driverless taxis reflects Dubai’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and reducing reliance on traditional transport systems, while enhancing commuter convenience and safety.
