USS Gerald Ford Withdraws from Iran Conflict After Onboard Fire

Date:

Washington, USA – Web Desk: The USS Gerald Ford, a US Navy aircraft carrier, has reportedly returned to port amid ongoing tensions with Iran, according to multiple American media reports.

Earlier, the vessel experienced a significant onboard fire in its main laundry area, which disrupted its operational activities. Authorities said it took over 30 hours to fully control the blaze, resulting in two US service members being injured. Fortunately, the ship’s engines and critical systems were not damaged.

The incident temporarily displaced more than 600 crew members from their living quarters. The carrier has an assigned crew of approximately 4,500 personnel, highlighting the scale of disruption caused by the fire.

This development comes as tensions in the Gulf region remain high, with US naval operations under close monitoring amid the ongoing conflict with Iran. Analysts note that such setbacks could affect American military readiness in the region.
