Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has formally requested an increase in electricity prices for consumers across Pakistan.
The agency’s application is based on the February Fuel Price Adjustment, seeking a hike of Rs 1.64 per unit. According to CPPA, 742.7 million units of electricity were supplied to distribution companies during February.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) will hold a hearing on March 31 to review the request. If approved, the new rates will apply nationwide, including to K-Electric consumers.
This development comes amid ongoing concerns over electricity affordability and rising fuel costs in Pakistan, impacting both households and businesses.
