According to authorities, the arrests were carried out in the states of Massachusetts, Kentucky, Missouri, and Ohio.
Officials stated that the suspects were allegedly involved in armed robberies. The crimes were reportedly committed so that store clerks could falsely claim to be victims of violent offenses, enabling them to seek immigration benefits in the US.
