Farooq Sattar Says Taseer Removal Due to Feudal Pressure

Date:

Karachi, Pakistan – Web Desk: Senior leader of Farooq Sattar from Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQM-P) has claimed that the decision to remove Kamran Tessori from the post of Governor of Sindh was taken under pressure from feudal and influential political groups.

Speaking to the media at the Governor House Karachi, Sattar said the decision was made without consulting MQM-Pakistan, a key ally of the federal government led by Shehbaz Sharif.

He said Tessori had carried out several welfare initiatives during his tenure and described the move to remove him as a “serious mistake” by the federal authorities.

According to Sattar, the party learned about the development through media reports rather than through official consultation. He said the decision indicated that the federal government had effectively sidelined MQM-Pakistan despite its role as a coalition partner.

The MQM leader further warned that if the issue was not treated as a “red line,” the party’s political credibility could suffer significant damage. He added that the party leadership, including Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, would soon decide its future course of action.

Sattar also suggested that the party may reconsider its participation in the federal coalition if its concerns are not addressed.

MQM-Pakistan leadership is expected to hold a meeting to determine the party’s strategy following the development.
