Pakistan Leaders Briefed on Regional Security Situation

(Web Desk) – An important in-camera briefing on the regional security situation was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. The session provided updates on developments in Afghanistan, tensions in the Middle East, and Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at promoting regional stability.

Political and parliamentary representatives expressed their views during the briefing and emphasized the importance of national unity in addressing security challenges. Participants commended Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to reduce regional tensions and highlighted the need to further strengthen these initiatives through sustained engagement and dialogue.

Leaders also reiterated their commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring national security. The prime minister’s decision to brief political stakeholders on matters of national importance was appreciated as a step toward inclusive decision-making.

The meeting included senior parliamentary figures such as representatives of the Senate and National Assembly, as well as leaders from major political parties including Pakistan Peoples Party and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl. Officials reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue pursuing a diplomatic approach to regional disputes while maintaining strong security measures to protect national interests.
