German Chancellor Doubts US-Israeli Strikes Will Change Iran

Date:

Washington, United States – Web Desk: German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed skepticism over the effectiveness of U.S. and Israeli military actions in producing internal change in Iran. Speaking in Washington following a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, Merz emphasized the need for a permanent deal to end Iran’s nuclear program.

“The end of Iran’s current government would be good news for Iranians,” Merz said, “but I do not believe military strikes alone will lead to internal reform.”

Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney urged restraint in the Middle East, stressing in Sydney that all nations, including the U.S. and Israel, must respect international law to reduce tensions in the region.
