Marco Rubio Vows to Destroy Iran’s Ballistic Missile Capability

Date:

Washington (Web Desk) US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that Washington’s mission is to dismantle Iran’s ballistic missile capability, asserting that Tehran must not be allowed to pose a threat to regional or global security.

Speaking to reporters in Washington, Rubio said ongoing US military operations are aimed at neutralising Iran’s missile infrastructure. He accused Iran of targeting both military and civilian sites in Gulf countries, alleging that hotels and residential buildings were struck and more than 100 missiles were launched in initial attacks.

Rubio claimed the early wave of Iranian strikes resulted in significant casualties, though he did not provide specific figures. He argued that pre-emptive US action prevented greater loss of life.

“The United States will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons under any circumstances,” Rubio said, warning that a combination of ballistic missile technology and nuclear capability would present a serious global threat.

Tehran has not immediately responded to Rubio’s remarks. Iran has consistently maintained that its nuclear programme is for peaceful purposes.

The latest comments come amid rising Middle East tensions and growing concerns over missile proliferation, regional security, and the future of nuclear diplomacy between Washington and Tehran.
