Washington, United States – Web Desk: Donald Trump announced that the United States and Israel have launched a major security operation against Iran, stating that the objective is to neutralise threats posed by the Iranian government and safeguard American security interests.
In a public statement, Trump said the operation aims to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to dismantle preparations linked to its nuclear programme. He described the action as necessary to eliminate dangers and protect the safety of the American population.
“Our goal is to neutralise threats from the Iranian regime and defend the United States,” Trump stated. He reiterated that Iran must never obtain nuclear capabilities, citing concerns over regional security and international stability.
According to officials, the operation involved coordinated strikes by the United States and Israel targeting multiple locations in Iran. Reports indicated that missiles were launched from air and sea platforms, with several projectiles striking areas near government installations in Tehran, including sites close to the presidential palace and the residence of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Israel’s Defence Minister confirmed the operation, describing it as a pre-emptive measure aimed at eliminating perceived security threats. Iranian authorities have vowed to respond, warning of potential retaliation as tensions in the Middle East escalate.
The joint operation represents a significant escalation in regional hostilities and has renewed concerns about broader military confrontation. International observers are urging restraint and renewed diplomatic engagement to prevent further instability.
