Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – Web Desk: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has strongly condemned Israel’s actions in Gaza, saying expansionist measures and continued aggression are “unacceptable under any circumstances.”
Addressing a special ministerial meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Dar said Arab and Islamic countries had expressed deep concern over reported violations of the Gaza ceasefire. He called for an immediate halt to hostilities and stressed that civilian suffering in Gaza could not be ignored.
Dar said alleged violations of the ceasefire must end without delay and described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as intolerable. He also criticised Israeli settlement activity in Palestinian territories, calling it illegal and unacceptable.
The foreign minister underscored the need for urgent reconstruction and humanitarian assistance in Gaza. He said Pakistan remains in close contact with brotherly countries to support efforts aimed at achieving a sustainable and lasting ceasefire.
Reaffirming Islamabad’s longstanding position, Dar reiterated Pakistan’s support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state in line with international resolutions.
He added that the OIC plays a vital role in promoting peace, development and cooperation across the Muslim world, and said Israel’s policies continue to raise serious concerns among Muslim nations.
