Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: President Asif Ali Zardari has approved a summary to convene a joint session of Parliament on March 2, according to an official statement from the Presidency.
The session will be held at 10:30 a.m., where the president is scheduled to deliver his ninth address to a joint sitting of Parliament.
According to the statement, Zardari’s speech will outline national priorities, democratic stability, constitutional supremacy, and sustainable economic development. He is also expected to address the regional and global situation, as well as Pakistan’s commitment to combating terrorism.
The presidency said the president will reiterate the country’s resolve to eliminate militancy, including terrorism allegedly backed by external elements.
The joint session of Parliament is considered a key constitutional event in Pakistan’s political calendar, during which the head of state sets out the government’s legislative agenda and policy direction.
