Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership has reiterated its support for Aleema Khan regarding the health of the party’s founder, former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Special Assistant to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister for Information, confirmed that Khan was transferred from prison to hospital late at night, a move he described as a violation of prison protocols.
“From day one, the stance has been that the family will speak on Imran Khan’s health, and the party will stand with Aleema Khan in this matter,” Shafi Jan said. He emphasized that lawyers should actively pursue Imran Khan’s legal cases, noting that orders from the Islamabad High Court permitting meetings with the former PM have not been implemented.
Addressing the formation of a release force, Shafi Jan said it will be established without political motives and primarily as part of street movement coordination, with membership to begin after Ramadan.
The remarks follow criticism from Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, who accused party leadership of making unilateral decisions without consultation. She raised questions regarding the involvement of senior lawyers, including Mohsin Naqvi, Barrister Gohar, Latif Khosa, and Barrister Ali Zafar, in addressing delays in the former PM’s medical treatment and legal representation.
The PTI leadership maintains that all measures regarding Imran Khan’s health and legal matters will be taken in accordance with family guidance, while publicly reaffirming party unity behind Aleema Khan.
