MrBeast Reveals Vision Loss Linked to Rare Eye Condition

Date:

Los Angeles, United States – Web Desk: Jimmy Donaldson, widely known as MrBeast, the world’s most-subscribed YouTuber, has revealed that he is suffering from a rare eye condition that has significantly affected his vision.

Donaldson said he is nearly blind in his right eye and struggles to see clearly even with contact lenses, often needing to squint to focus on objects. He did not publicly disclose the exact diagnosis but said the condition has existed for a long time and affects his daily activities.

Ophthalmology experts say the symptoms described by MrBeast closely resemble Stargardt disease, a rare inherited genetic disorder that affects the retina and central vision. The condition typically begins in childhood or adolescence and gradually worsens, although peripheral vision often remains intact.

Medical specialists explained that the disease is caused by a genetic mutation that leads to the buildup of toxic substances in the retina, slowly damaging central eyesight. Currently, there is no definitive cure, but research into gene therapy and advanced treatments is ongoing.

Doctors also advise patients to avoid excessive vitamin A intake and to use UV-protective eyewear when exposed to sunlight to help preserve eye health.

MrBeast, whose YouTube channel has hundreds of millions of subscribers, remains one of the most influential digital creators globally, and his health disclosure has drawn widespread attention online.
