Washington, United States – Web Desk: A man attempting to illegally enter former US President Donald Trump’s private residence at Mar-a-Lago in Florida was shot dead by the US Secret Service, authorities confirmed on Monday.
According to international news agencies, the suspect was carrying a shotgun and a fuel can when he approached the property. Secret Service agents, assisted by a Palm Beach County deputy sheriff, ordered the man to drop his weapon and fuel container.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Rick Bradshaw told a press conference that the suspect complied by placing the fuel can on the ground but raised the shotgun into a firing position, prompting officers to open fire. The suspect was killed at the scene, and no law enforcement personnel were injured.
Officials confirmed that Donald Trump was in Washington at the time of the incident and was not present at Mar-a-Lago. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has taken over the investigation and is collecting evidence from the scene. Authorities have not yet released details regarding the suspect’s motive.
