English cricketers rally in support of Pakistani players amid controversy

Date:

London, United Kingdom – Web Desk: Support for Pakistani cricketers is growing in England after tensions arose over their participation in The Hundred. Indian franchise owners reportedly hinted at an unofficial boycott, stirring controversy ahead of the tournament.

English T20 captain Harry Brook described Pakistan as a “great cricketing nation” and said the players’ absence from the event would be “shameful.” Former England captain Michael Vaughan also warned that such developments could pose risks to English cricket, urging the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to shield the tournament from political influence.

Vaughan highlighted that any ban could negatively impact players of Pakistani descent living in England and called for immediate clarification from the authorities to prevent further unrest.

The controversy comes amid rising scrutiny of franchise decisions in global T20 leagues and the intersection of politics with sport.
