Islamabad, Pakistan – Web Desk: Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry revealed on Tuesday that former Prime Minister Imran Khan will receive a second eye injection on February 25, with a laser procedure scheduled if deemed necessary.
Chaudhry confirmed that Khan underwent a detailed medical examination inside Adiala Jail under full government supervision to ensure transparency and proper care. All essential facilities, including a Slit Lamp, OCT scan, and a fully equipped heavy ambulance, were provided at the prison for the procedure.
Dr. Arif from PIMS and Dr. Nadeem Qureshi from Shifa Hospital conducted the physical examination, while senior specialists Dr. Asim Yousaf and Dr. Mirza monitored the procedure via conference call. Barrister Gohar was kept fully informed throughout.
“The preliminary report shows a significant reduction in swelling and improvement in vision, with no major complications detected,” Chaudhry stated. He added that Khan’s family had been invited to attend the examination, but no representative appeared. Independent experts oversaw the entire process to maintain impartiality.
Khan has already received one injection, and medical experts recommended continuing Eylea for now, although Vabysmo may be considered as an alternative. The next step involves an angiogram, after which a laser treatment will be decided if necessary.
Chaudhry emphasized that, despite Khan’s prisoner status, he is receiving full medical care. “It is the state’s responsibility to provide every citizen with standard medical treatment, and no lapse has occurred in Imran Khan’s case,” he said.
