US Preparing for Prolonged Military Conflict With Iran

Date:

Washington / Tehran — Web Desk: The United States is preparing for a potential prolonged military campaign against Iran, according to remarks by U.S. officials amid escalating tensions between the two countries.

Two American officials told a British news agency that Washington is planning a complex and extensive operation that could target not only Iran’s nuclear infrastructure but also state and security facilities. The officials said the United States anticipates retaliatory actions from Iran, which could significantly increase risks to U.S. forces and destabilize the broader Middle East region.

Media reports indicate that the Pentagon is strengthening its military presence in the Middle East, including deploying an additional aircraft carrier, thousands of troops, fighter jets, and guided missile destroyers. The United States already maintains military bases in Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned that any U.S. attack would result in strikes on American military bases across the region. Analysts say Iran possesses advanced missile capabilities, raising concerns that any conflict could escalate into a wider regional confrontation.

Meanwhile, Iran has signaled it is willing to engage in negotiations to limit its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of sanctions, according to the report.

U.S. President Donald Trump described a potential agreement with Iran as difficult, saying that a tough stance is sometimes necessary. The White House spokesperson said the president has all options on the table and will make a final decision after reviewing proposals in the interest of national security.
