Thailand School Shooting: 18-Year-Old Kills Female Principal

Date:

Southern Thailand – Web Desk: A tragic incident occurred at a school in southern Thailand when an 18-year-old student opened fire on school staff, killing the female principal.

According to international news agencies, the student’s violent attack in the school compound also injured a female student. Both were rushed to a hospital, where Principal Sasit Sunsamussorn Duan succumbed to her injuries, while the student is reportedly in stable condition.

Police identified the suspect as Khemnan, who has been taken into custody. Initial investigations indicate that he was experiencing psychological stress and under the influence of substances, and had previously received psychiatric treatment.

Authorities revealed that the attack may have been triggered after the suspect’s sister was disciplined at the school for violating rules, which reportedly provoked him to target the principal. Police continue to investigate other aspects of the case.

The incident has raised concerns about school security and mental health interventions in Thailand.
