Case to Be Filed Against Former Adiala Jail Superintendent: Salman Akram Raja

Date:

ISLAMABAD – Web Desk: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary-General Salman Akram Raja stated on Friday that a legal case will be filed against former Adiala Jail superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum for alleged medical negligence involving PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Speaking to reporters in Islamabad, Raja claimed that a crime had been committed against Imran Khan, specifying that it was perpetrated by Anjum. The case, he said, will be officially registered against the former superintendent.

Raja highlighted that Khan has permanently lost vision in one eye and can now only perceive light. He emphasized that the PTI chairman’s treatment must be carried out exclusively by doctors trusted by Khan and his family.

Alima Khan, Imran Khan’s sister, corroborated the claims, revealing that authorities failed to inform the family for several weeks about the deterioration of Khan’s eye condition. She stated that Khan’s treatment will now be undertaken at Shifa Hospital under the supervision of his personal physician.

Alima Khan described the distressing situation: “It is heartbreaking. We have not treated someone who has spent over two years in jail properly. The superintendent and surveillance cameras witnessed that Imran Khan could not see, yet no timely action was taken. For three months, his complaints were ignored, and the risk to his eyesight was left unaddressed.”

She further asserted that if justice had been properly administered, Khan would not have been in jail under such conditions. She urged immediate medical attention for the PTI chairman, emphasizing that misinformation about a transfer to Bani Gala is false.

Raja and Alima Khan’s statements mark a serious escalation in the controversy surrounding Khan’s detention and medical care, raising questions about accountability and the treatment of high-profile prisoners in Pakistan.
