TEHRAN – Iran issued a stern warning on Wednesday that any military strike, no matter how limited, against the country will be considered an act of war, underscoring the nation’s firm stance on its missile and defense capabilities.
Speaking at the 47th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Tehran, Ali Shamkhani, a top adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, emphasized that Iran’s missile program is a red line and will not be subject to negotiation. “Any limited military action against Iran will be treated as the beginning of war,” Shamkhani said, highlighting Tehran’s determination to safeguard its defense infrastructure.
Shamkhani urged the United States to pursue “serious negotiations” rather than resorting to threats. His remarks come amid escalating tensions in the region, following comments from U.S. President Donald Trump suggesting potential military action against Iran and the possible deployment of an additional naval fleet in the Gulf if diplomacy fails.
